Respite Services
Provides relief to persons who are caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. This service is available through Adult Day Care or in the client’s home.
In-Home Respite
In-home respite is provided to caregivers of persons with Alzheimer's disease or other related dementias. The purpose of this program is to reduce caregiver stress and keep the person with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia at home as long as possible. Trained volunteers and respite aides provide companionship, individualized activities, light housekeeping, and limited personal care in the client’s home. In-home respite is available up to four hours per week and is offered in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.
Alzheimer’s Association Adult Day Care
Adult Day Care is designed to assist older adults who have Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia maintain their optimum level of functioning. The program provides individualized activities based on interest and ability in a supervised and secure environment. A continental breakfast, nutritious hot lunch, and an afternoon snack are included. There are two locations:
- Southwest Detroit Site is located at Trinity St. Mark’s United Church of Christ, near Fort and Springwells. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The program closes at noon on the first Friday of every month.
- Oakland County Site is housed within our Metro Detroit office in Southfield, near Evergreen and Ten Mile Road. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
