Programs are designed to provide people with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and their families and care partners with information on the disease as well as with valuable tools on how to cope with specific challenges faced during the disease process. “Legal and Financial Issues"
With Pam Keener, of Legal Services of Eastern Michigan

Practical information regarding common legal documents used to plan for the needs of persons with Dementia. Topics include: durable power of attorney for finances and health care, legal guardianship, conservatorship, living wills and trusts. Learn helpful tips regarding the when and where of out of the home placement.

“Community Tips "

As Alzheimer's disease and related dementias progress, communication can become increasingly challenging. Participants will learn concrete ways to enhance communication and quality of life throughout the dementia process.

“Safety and Environmental Issues "

Participants will learn tips for changing their environment to meet the needs of persons with dementia, and how to accommodate sensory, physical and cognitive changes of those with memory impairment. Wandering and the Alzheimer's Association's successful Safe Return Program will also be covered.
