Message boards and chat rooms
The Alzheimer’s Association message boards and chat rooms are your online communication forum. Share your thoughts and experiences, query your colleagues and make new friends. Please join our community.
Publications
Each office has their own lending library of books, videos, and brochures that can be sent to you. Brochures written specifically for persons with memory loss are: “If You Have Alzheimer’s Disease: What you should know, what you should do”, “Steps to Understanding Financial Issues: Resources For Individuals With Alzheimer’s Disease”, and “Living with Early-Onset Alzheimer’s Disease.”

Early Stage Support Groups
The Alzheimer’s Association - Greater Michigan Chapter Metro Detroit Region offers early stage support groups for persons dealing with the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia. For information on early stage programs in your area please call the 24/7 helpline at 800-272-3900.
Early Stage Discussion Groups are for both, persons recently diagnosed with early stage memory loss as well as their primary care partners. Each session will begin with a group discussion focusing on topics such as planning for the future, coping techniques, and promoting independence. As this is a closed group, individuals interested in participating are urged to contact the 24/7 Helpline at 800-272-3900.
Early Stage Memory Loss Support Groups are an on-going support group for persons living with the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. This group is unique in that it focuses on the individual with memory loss, it is participant driven, promotes socialization, fosters well-being, and personal growth. Discussion topics may include careers, families, friends, social activities, independence vs. dependence, understanding the diagnosis, driving, medical, physical and emotional challenges, loss, frustration, happiness and joy.
